The Waiting Room

What are somatic Practices?

Have you ever experienced intense stomach pains or sensations upon receiving really bad news or feeling scared? This is an example of how your entire body acts like a brain. When we experience trauma, it affects not only our minds but also our entire bodies.

This connection explains why people can have heart attacks due to stress, suffer from a range of health-related issues, or experience panic attacks that affect their breathing.

Ideally, we should purge our bodies of trauma, and somatic practices are a way to achieve that purge.

What does a somatic practice look like?

Somatic practices encompass a range of activities, including breath work, body scanning, grounding, mindfulness exercises, stretching, and body movements. The goal of these exercises is to identify any discomfort or activations occurring in your body. For instance, if you consistently notice tension in your hips or chest, or experience random pains that medical examinations can't explain, somatic practices aim to address these sensations and release them through various techniques.

What is the Waiting Room?:

The Waiting Room is a three-month cohort of Somatic Moon, designed to create a supportive community for individuals who are committed to healing together. We understand that healing can be difficult and isolating, which is why The Waiting Room provides a space for connection, support, and growth through shared experiences. Our goal is to guide you through this journey in a safe and nurturing environment that fosters genuine community and care.

In addition to somatic exercises, you will gain access to a curated Discord community through Somatic Moon. This platform offers weekly practices, specially curated music playlists, and a place to engage with your support group, ensuring that you have continuous guidance throughout your healing journey.

At The Waiting Room, we recognize that healing is a marathon, and we're here to help you persevere. Through structured sessions and a strong sense of community, we provide the tools and support you need to thrive in your healing journey.

What is the Structure?

The Waiting Room is a three-month program, with sessions held twice a month, each focused on a specific healing topic. Participants are grouped based on their selected focus areas, allowing for a personalized and relevant experience. To maintain privacy, topics are color-coded for anonymity, ensuring a safe and confidential space for all.
